Chettikkad St. Antony's Church, Ernakulam, Kerala is highly
notable as a pilgrim centre not just to Indians but also for people from all
over the world. Thousands of people constellate in the centre that belong to
different faiths and nations in order to seek the blessings of the Holy Saint.
The church has the grace of holding and preserving three sacred relics which
includes a part of the tongue of Saint Anthony. ‘The Miracle Man’ as he
is known in India is revered and worshipped for his power to heal various
chronic ailments and diseases. Infertile women have been blessed with
babies and many children have been cured of their long troubling diseases.
People also visit the Holy Well near the church which is
believed to have healing power in its water. It is surprising to learn that
this is the only fresh water well among all the salt water wells that one can
find in that area. They say the water level never goes down no matter how much
ever water is taken from the well. So for a traveller or a devotee who is
interested in knowing about the miracles and spiritual wonders this has to be
on the checklist. Since a lot of miracles have happened among the
children, a children park has also been set up near the St. Anthony’s Church.
Mass Timings Chettikkad St-Antonys Church :
Various numbers of masses are conducted throughout the week,
Tuesday being the most important of all which holds a total of 5 masses. On
Friday and Sunday there are 2 masses each and on the other days a single mass
is held.
§ Tuesday: 8:00 am, 10:30am, 3:00pm, 5:00pm and
6:30pm
§ Friday: 7:00am, 10:00am
§ Sunday: 6:45am, 9:00am
§ Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/ Saturday: 7:00am
Apart from conducting mass, a number of healing services and
ceremonies are also organised. Special healing services, special prayers, holy
services, rice giving ceremony are other such distinctiveness that is observed
in St. Anthony’s Church.

exploring the area can find a number of places to visit. There are a number of
historical places and natural wonders that surround the place.

5000 crore Kochi Metro project began on Friday with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy who inaugurating the piling work in Kochi. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had laid the foundation stone for the project on September 13, 2012. Then Chief Minister waved a green flag at the function at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium for the piling work commenced at nearby Edapally.
The Chief Minister said this was a "proud moment" for kerala which had waited for years and its the time for dream to become a reality.Everyone to pledge support for the project to ensure its completion within the stipulated time frame, Minister said that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Principal Advisor E Sreedharan had promised me that the project would become a reality in 1095 days. The 25-km Kochi Metro route, which will have 22 stations from Aluva to Petta, is expected to be completed in about three-year time(1095 days).
The Chief Minister Oomman Chandy also said that there have been demands from various quarters for the extension of metro to the IT hub Kakkanad, Tripunithura, Nedumbassery airport-Angamally and Mattancherry etc.The government has decided to ask the Kochi Metro to study such demands and submit a detailed report in six months on the extension after which the Centre's consent would be taken to go ahead with it.
The centre's share Rs 1002.23 crore(about 19.3% of total project cost while the state's share Rs 2009.56 crore (about Rs 38.7%) while loan from funding agencies Rs 2170 crore (about 42%). Consultancy agreement with the DMRC would be signed within a week on Rs 5000 crore Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhikode Monorail project. By August of this year, the Mono rail work will commence.

Kerala Tourism Development Corporation has said it will install its own waste
treatment plants in all their hotels including 'Tamarind Easy Hotels'.
Biogas plants had already been set up in all major hotels owned by KTDC, while works were being completed at the Mascot and Chitram Hotels in the capital and Bolgatty palace in Kochi, a KTDC release said.

initiative was part of the state government's Green Kerala Initiative. The
'Tamarind' KTDC hotels in Alappuzha and Kayamkulam already have waste treatment
facility.
Besides KTDC hotels, the corporation had also installed a biogas plant at Thiruvananthapuram museum with the assistance of the Museums and Zoos department.
With the completion of the work, KTDC would set an example of becoming green with biogas treatment plants. Waste generated from the hotels would be recycled and used for gardening.
