Chettikkad St.Antony's Church

Chettikkad St. Antony's Church, Ernakulam, Kerala is highly notable as a pilgrim centre not just to Indians but also for people from all over the world. Thousands of people constellate in the centre that belong to different faiths and nations in order to seek the blessings of the Holy Saint. The church has the grace of holding and preserving three sacred relics which includes a part of the tongue of Saint Anthony.  ‘The Miracle Man’ as he is known in India is revered and worshipped for his power to heal various chronic ailments and diseases.  Infertile women have been blessed with babies and many children have been cured of their long troubling diseases.
People also visit the Holy Well near the church which is believed to have healing power in its water. It is surprising to learn that this is the only fresh water well among all the salt water wells that one can find in that area. They say the water level never goes down no matter how much ever water is taken from the well. So for a traveller or a devotee who is interested in knowing about the miracles and spiritual wonders this has to be on the checklist.  Since a lot of miracles have happened among the children, a children park has also been set up near the St. Anthony’s Church.
