Minister of
Tourism R.V. Deshpande said, that the department is coming up with several measures
to popularize to attract more tourists this year during Dasara festivities.
During the
ceremony after unveiling a tourist package for Dasara, Mr. Deshpande addressing
the press person said, publicity materials would be displayed on domestic
flights. FM services will be available in cities like Mysore, Mangalore, Pune,
Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Chennai. During the festival, The All
India Radio would broadcast a live running commentary on the Jamboo Savari, he
said.
He also said,
issue of exempting entry tax for vehicle from Mandya and Chamarajanagar
district will be looking into.
For the major
travel for tourists and visitors, “hop-on-hop off” bus service will be
introduced in the city where a valvo and regular city buses will cover various destinations
across Mysore. Gold Card Price for Volvo is priced at Rs. 100 a day, while it
is rs 60 da day for other city buses, Mr. Deshpande said.
The Karnataka
State Road Transport Corporation and the Karnataka State Tourism Development
Corporation has agreed and had joined hands to put up tour packages from Mysore
to Ranganathittu, Srirangapatna and Kokrebuller at the cost of rs 380 per
person while Mysore, Nanjangud, Gopalswamy Betta, Bandipur at Rs. 390 and
Mysore, Bylakuppe and Madikeri at rs 450 consecutively, the Minister said.
There are
several other packages like ‘Giridarshini’ package to cover Bandipur,
Gopalaswamy Betta, Biligirirangana Betta, Nanjangud, Chamundi Betta which cost
rs 325 for adults and rs 160 for children. Jaladarshini package to cover Golden
Temple, Nisargadhama, Abbey Falls, Raja Seat, Harangi Reservior in Kpdagu and
KRS in Mandya at the cost of 350 for adults while 175 for children. ‘Nagaradarshini’
trip to cover Nanjangud, Chamundi Hills, Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens,
palace, Srirangapatna and KRS (Rs. 200 for adults and Rs. 100 for children),
Mr. Deshpande said. Beside these, there are few other packages available for
tours during Dusshera festivity.
