PANAJI:
it was on Tuesday when department of tourism discussed about focusing on
providing safety services and securing life near the coastline of goa.
Though tender had already hovered in the
month of April of this year appealing for beach lifeguarding until one of the
bidders charged in court claiming fraud in the procedure.
So the government has remarked the high
court of Bombay and Goa to dismiss the previous tender and present a new tender.
Drishti Special Response Services Pvt Ltd
the service provider whose contract had ended in the month of June perhaps the
extension has been given due to delay to refloat the tender and to look for a
new service provider.
Moreover a government would look to extend
a contract much cause a present condition does not look to complete the process
within a frame of given time so the government is compelled to extend a date
for submission of proposal.
As earlier lifeguarding services were
performed at beaches alone but this time around Dudhsagar waterfalls and Mayem
Lake the two water bodies will have a service of lifeguard as many encounter
had lead to death in these two water bodies so the aim is to secure a life
within its perimeter.
Cabo
de Rama and Cola in South Goa is likely to be included in a new tender which
counts a number of 38 lifeguarding services at all the mentioned beaches said
by a source of ministry.
It has been proposed a service provider
would require bringing his own safety gear and other equipment not like in past
where a government provided all the tools and equipment for patrolling.
Department of tourism will not provide a
safety gear and vehicles because of some problems related with maintenance and
others simultaneously.
