UP now Introduce ECO Tourism Packages - Promotes Various Places around Dudhwa National Park

LUCKNOW:  With the new effort to promote the eco-tourism, the state government has made Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation, the nodal agency for promotion of eco-tourism.


Last year UPFC started to analyse the importance of the eco-tourism sites in the state and started to compile information and put them on internet for tourists to avail eco-tourism packages. These efforts are in order to promote eco-tourism of the state was done under the direction of the Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav, but could not do much for the development.
“ The UPFC managing director Iqbal Singh said, “ After being made a nodal agency, it would be easier to make efforts for the development of the eco-tourism of the state”.

In UP, eco-tourism is limited to Dudhwa National Park and some location around it. But the state government is giving it a required development. The body has researched and has done the initial survey around forest and protected areas as prospective eco-tourism sites

The places include Katarniaghat on Gerua river in Bahraich, Chuka ghat in Pilibhit on Sharda dam, Chambal ravines in Agra, Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary in Unnao, Chandraprabha Rajdari waterfalls and Deodari waterfalls in Varanasi, Sarsainawar Sarus Sanctuary in Etawah, Sandi Bird Sanctuary in Hardoi, Noida Bird Sanctuary and Kalpi river cruise in the Yamuna in Jalaun.

The body UPFC has also taken the initiative to offer eco-tourism packages. The package would let visitors enjoy the nature, bio-diversity, and natural habitat, agrarian culture of the state, hospitality of the rural folks and the historical legacy of the sites.
The official also said “with the approach of the winter which is the ideal time, such tour will be organized soon to start”.

UPFC will also put effort to encourage locals, rural folks to facilitate hassle free visit to the visitors to the areas they are willing to visit. “UPFC will do it on a no-profit-no-loss basis," said the official.

Tourist visiting the eco-tourism sites face problem and find it difficult to fine proper accommodation. UPFC will looking into this matter and do the necessary development.
