Kerala is a state that has been known to be
one of the most beautiful and magical states of India. The culture and
tradition has been well preserved by the people here and can be seen in the
temples, festivals and the way of life that they follow. Amongst the many

This ancient form of medicine that was almost
lost in time has been revived and has been boosting the tourism of Kerala. It

and treatment include the British super model Naomi Campbell, Bernardo
Bertolucci who is an Italian film director, Ingeborg Schoener who is a German
TV star and actress, the pop queen Madonna, Demi Moore the Hollywood actress,
Cherie Blair the wife of former British prime minister and even the former
prime minister of India Atal Behari Vajpayee.
All these famous personalities have been in
the state at least once to experience the magic of Ayurveda. They liked and
felt the difference of an ayurvedic treatment so much that the German TV
actress Ingeborg Schoener said, “Thanks to Ayurveda, I feel fantastic. I make
ghee at home and have stopped using oil to fry food. I do my yoga, drink a
glass of hot water first thing in the morning and buy one-year worth of
Ayurvedic medicines.”
The ayurvedic treatment has been so liked and
appreciated by the people who underwent that they kept coming back for more.
Seeing the rise in inflow of tourists for ayurvedic treatment Kerala Tourism
Secretary Suman Billa told PTI, "Ayurveda, practised in Kerala in its
traditional and authentic form, has been a major attraction for tourists. We
are now planning to leverage its healing and curative aspects, along with its
wellness system, to woo tourists during the monsoon season."
The ayurvedic treatment is an age old science
that has been that has been perfected over the years and has been known to
treat patients suffering with Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, skin ailments,
nervous disorders etc.
The art of Ayurveda uses herbs and potions
along with the knowledge of anatomy to treat the ailments. It is said that the
ayurvedic treatment is best when taken during the monsoon season as the dust
and heat is highly reduced during this season.
The rise in ayurvedic treatment has not only
been perceived by the government but by the private sector too. The government
has launched programmes such as the Green leaf and Olive leaf grading system
for Ayurveda and likewise the private sector has launched spas, hotels and
resorts dedicated to Ayurveda.
All in all the bottom line is that the
Ayurvedic tourism has started to blossom in Kerala and people have been made
aware of the benefits of this treatment thus creating a market for tourism in
the state. So if you have any ailments that are not being curbed by allopathic
medicine you can opt for an ayurvedic one which might get it cured.
Ayurveda is natural way of curing ailments. This is an age old tradition which is practiced by great saint and forefathers who strongly trust the nature and think that it has all solutions for the complexity.
