St.George
Forane Church Aruvithura acceptance to the Syro-Malabar Rite in the area
of
Palai, is anchored on the left bank of the river Meenachil. A beacon of the
nineteen century old Christian faith, the church stands on an account

One of the oldest
churches in Kerala, it is believed that St. George's Church at Aruvithura in Kottayam,
was accustomed by St. Thomas in the first century A.D. The yearly feast is
committed to St. George, the patron of the church and has all the approved

The aboriginal building of the church which was
dedicated to Virgin Mother was reconstructed in the 16th century and the

station is Kottayam, about 35 km away. Kottayam railway base lies on the rout
between Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram and almost all the trains that head
towards Trivandrum stop here. Kanyakumari Express, Trivandrum Express, Kerala
Express etc are the trains that run at this railway station and connect
Kottayam with important cities of India like Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata,
Bangalore, Chennai, etc. To reach St.George Forane Church Aruvithura you can
