Nicknamed as Annakutty, Alphonsa's mother died when she was actual adolescent and she was aloft by her affectionate aunt, Annamma Muricken of the bygone Muricken ancestors at Muttuchira and her great-uncle Rev. Fr. Joseph Muttathupadathu. As a child, little Alphonsa was aggressive by St Theresa of Lisieux and she capital to address her activity to Christ. Saint Alphonsa lived a holy life and was accustomed as an angelic person during her lifetime. Even at a young age she showed a great zeal for suffering and she acclimated to adjure agilely and longed for cede and abnegation as and if possible. She believed that she have to abide all things that tests her will and action them to the Lord. It is said that in animosity of her aching diseases, she was airy to the last.

This Tomb is located in Bharananganam, Pala in Kottyam district in the state of Kerala. This tomb is situated in the St. Mary’s church here. The timing to visit this holy Chapel is Monday to Friday (6.30 am and 11 am), Saturday (8.15 am and 3 pm) and Sunday (8.15 am)
