and Art Gallery at Dharmashala near Thaliparamba. The department of tourism will consider the
proposal to set up a Souhardha Veedhi (Fraternity Corridor) along the four-kilometer stretch
between Dharmashala and Parassinikadavu Muthappan temple, and asked the District Tourism
Promotion Council (DTPC) to prepare a project report.
The proposal includes developing the stretch and building a cultural complex with an open air
theater in the model of Nishagandhi auditorium in Thiruvananthapuram.
The corridor would include park benches, mural paintings on walls and paved walkways between
Dharmashala and Parassinikkadavu. Upon realization, the project would provide a face lift to the
locality. It is expected to attract more tourists apart from providing a public leisure space for
people.
The newly inaugurated tourism facilitation centre has a help desk, refreshment centre and comfort
station. The Rs 60-lakh development project at Kanjirakkolly includes tourism information
centre, walkway, parking area besides security measures for visiting tourists.
